"What About..."

The "What About..." Series, written by former Synod President A.L. Barry, is a series of 29 pamphlets that address doctrinal topics, moral issues, and concerns in the church. These questions are designed to help Christians grow in their understanding of these topics. Click on the links to download the PDF. Some of these pamphlets are available on the resource table inside the Chapel.

The LCMS Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that researching a new church or denomination could lead to many questions. While the pamphlets above tackle many of the most hard hitting issues, there are also many more frequently asked questions answered by the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. These questions and answers can be found categorized on their website and clicking the button below will take you to the file page.

The Book of Concord

The Book of Concord, written in the 16th century, is the official volume which contains the Lutheran Confessions, that is, the statements of faith which Lutherans use to explain what they believe, teach, and confess. The Book of Concord contains the three Ecumenical Creeds (Apostle's, Nicene, and Athanasian), the Augsburg Confession, the Apology (Defense) of the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, the Small Catechism, the Large Catechism, and the Formula of Concord. The button below will take you to a website where you can access the Book of Concord as well as related resources.

Around The Word

Around the Word is a Lutheran resource dedicated to providing devotions, Bible studies, blog posts and more which are firmly rooted in biblical truth. As they have said themselves, "We let the Law and the Gospel echo in the full voice with which God speaks it, and we are on the lookout for error because we love to hear the truth, the life-giving voice of Jesus". On their website you can find downloadable weekly devotions as well as many other resources.
